How We Got Started  Wanna Play - We do!! The Soldotna Community Playground started with playgroup moms taking our children to Seward for the day, not just a walk to the park! The day started with a trip to the Sea Life Center and ended with a picnic at Seward's new community built playground. Our children, aging from 15 months to 3 years had a fantastic time playing on the playground and us moms enjoyed ourselves too. It was nice that the children of varying ages and abilities could play at one playground together and the fence around the playground was helpful to keep an eye on all the kids. It was inspiring to see Seward's unique personality shine through their playground from Mount Marathon and the railroad to the Iditarod. It was obvious that a lot of hard work and pride went into it. And that's when it happened - "We can do this! We can build a playground like this in our own community!" We've started by contacting Leathers and Associates, formed Soldotna Community Playground, made some phone calls, tapped some shoulders and here we are. Now all we need is YOU!
